The Strategic Acquisitions and Technology Procurement (SATP) Branch is represented by a group of professionals who manage and deliver strategic procurement planning, advice and complex procurement implementation services for major acquisitions across government and the broader public sector.

In addition to our major projects, SATP provides ongoing procurement advisory services to a wide variety of clients encompassing projects of a general nature (e.g. designing and establishing Qualified Suppliers Listings, Request for Proposals etc.) through to more complicated or non-routine procurements. Any opportunity using the Joint Solution Procurement process (JSP) is handled by SATP.

Our prime objectives are to:

1. Deliver high-quality professional consulting and advisory services on complex and strategic opportunities for government and the broader public sector;
2. Develop more innovative, risk-based and flexible procurement methods to reflect trends in the public and private sector business environment. This includes researching and developing new products and services for new or emerging markets; and
3. Assist industry in understanding the public sector procurement process, through training and advice on accessing public sector commercial opportunities.

SATP is currently engaged on seven of government's ASD (Alternate Services Delivery) projects in a lead procurement role.
